Elsie Minner, 87, of Montezuma, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday evening, May 10, 2019 at the Brooklyn Estates.
Elsie Carolyn Minner, the daughter of Robert Boyd and Blanche (Wheaton) Klinker, was born on February 12, 1932 in Hedrick, Iowa.

Elsie was raised on a farm Southeast of New Sharon and was the valedictorian of the class of 1949 of New Sharon High School.

On February 21, 1950, Elsie was united in marriage to Daryl Minner. To this union three children were born, Kathryn, Mary and Tim.

The couple farmed a few years near Barnes City before moving to Montezuma. Elsie worked part time at several different jobs and in 1974, she was appointed the Poweshiek County Judicial Magistrate and served faithfully for 15 years.

Elsie was very faithful and accepted Christ as her Savior at age 12 when she was baptized. She was a lifelong member of the Jackson Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for more than 50 years, girls youth group and served the church in many other ways. She loved spending time with her family and playing games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, and cooking.

Her legacy will be honored by her children: Mary (& David) Cochran of Thornton, CO and Tim (& Roxane) Minner of Montezuma; three grandchildren: Travis (& Alicia) Minner of Montezuma, Eric (& Heather) Minner of Ankeny, and Melissa Van Baalen of Wasalli, Alaska; five great grandchildren: Vanessa (& Lucas) Hilton, Keaton Minner, Payton Minner, Hunter Minner and Rylee Minner; a great-great granddaughter, Delaney Hilton; two sisters-in-law, Pat Klinker and Jan Klinker; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daryl Minner; a daughter in infancy, Kathryn; three brothers: Warren Klinker, Paul Klinker and Donald Klinker; and three sisters: Arlene Farrand, Dorothy Griffin and Ruth Sutherland.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Jackson Church of Christ in Montezuma.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held in the Union Mills Cemetery near New Sharon. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Clothes Closet or the Montezuma Food Pantry.
