Elizabeth Ann Fleming, 55, of New Sharon passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Fleming was born on September 29, 1962 at Sigourney, Iowa to Norman and Patricia Townsend McCombs.

Liz was raised on the family farm and graduated from Montezuma High School in 1981.

Liz was united in marriage to John Van Roekel and to this union Tanner was born. Liz then married Brad Van Rheenen and to this union their son Michael was born. On January 17, 2003, Liz was united in marriage to Steven Fleming and they became the parents of Nicholas.

Liz held several jobs including working at Brownells, Wolverine and CertainTeed in Grinnell. Her favorite job was working at the East Market Grocery Store in New Sharon.

Liz loved people and enjoyed interacting with everyone. She was certainly a people person. She enjoyed watching TV involving murder mysteries and ghost stories. Her favorite show was The Walking Dead. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed attending the children’s ballgames and activities.

Liz is survived by her father, Norman McCombs of Grinnell; her husband, Steven of New Sharon; her children: Tanner (& Allie Vosburg) Van Roekel of Grinnell, Michael (& Anita) Van Rheenen of New Sharon, and Nicholas Fleming of New Sharon; her siblings: Steven (& Rhonda) McCombs of Petersburg, Il., Marcy (& Robert) Van Voorhis of Ames, and John McCombs of Montezuma; a grandson, Brooks Vosburg; and many other friends and relatives.

Liz was preceded in death by her mother, Joan McCombs.

As was her wish, her body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 beginning at 10:30 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be designated for St. Jude’s Hospital or the Stephen’s Memorial Animal Shelter at Oskaloosa.

Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.
