Douglas Edward Kipple, 61, of University Park, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at his home in University Park. He was born Thursday, March 16, 1956, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, the son of Alton William and Effie Elizabeth Zartman Kipple.
Doug graduated from Southwest Western High School with the Class of 1975.
Following graduation, Doug worked various jobs including farming, fork lift operator, grounds keeper, maintenance worker, and as a machinist.
On September 1, 1979, Ed was united in marriage to Elaine Seabrook in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.
Doug enjoyed woodworking and drawing.
His family includes his wife, Elaine Kipple of University Park; two daughters: Jennifer (& Brad) Welch of Beacon and Julie Kipple of University Park; a son, Jason Kipple of Oskaloosa; four grandchildren: Rebekah, Travis, Lillian and Kaylanna; a brother, Gene (& Mary) Kipple of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; a half-brother, Richard (& Esther) Kipple of York New Salem, Pennsylvania; a sister, Sarah; and 9 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Jack and David Kipple.
As was his wish, Doug’s body has been cremated.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Calvary Bible Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Dr. Douglas Smiley officiating.
No visitation is planned at this time.
