Donna Fisk, 77 of Montezuma, passed away Thursday evening, November 27, 2014 at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Donna Rae Fisk, the daughter of Stanford and Maxine (Dunton) Johnson, was born on June 28, 1937 in rural Montezuma, Iowa.

Donna was a 1955 graduate of Montezuma High School. On December 3, 1955, Donna was united in marriage to Jim Fisk at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma. To this union four children were born: Bev, Daniel, Judy and David “Jimmy”. Donna was a typical farmer’s wife, helping Jim with everyday farm duties.

On January 21, 1971, Donna was in an automobile accident leaving her paralyzed. After her accident, she stayed very active helping with the farm book work, writing a cookbook and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed each new challenge with a positive attitude. She had a strong faith in Christ, always put others before her and was an inspiration to everyone she met. She enjoyed entertaining guests at her home, having coffee or tea time, and visiting with friends. Donna attended the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Montezuma.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Fisk; her three children: Bev (& Jim) Smothers of Montezuma, Judy (& Steve) Audas of Montezuma and David “Jimmy” (& Jennifer) Fisk of Montezuma; her eight grandchildren: Michael (& Natalie) Smothers, Mindy (& James) McNaul, Brant Smothers, Stephanie (& Cody Meinecke) Audas, Julie Audas, Jameson (& Kayla) Fisk, Cameron (& Mollie Earley) Fisk and Braxton Fisk; her seven great grandchildren; one brother, Duane (& Jackie) Johnson of Danville, IN; one sister, Darlene (& David) Deweese of Rancho Mirage, CA; three sisters-in-law: Bette Johnson of Lincoln, NE, Mary Lou (& Eugene) Mann of Montezuma and Sherrill (& Ray) Anderson of Eldora, IA; caregiver of nearly 30 years, Janet Rauch; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Stanford and Maxine Johnson; a stillborn son, Daniel James Fisk; and a brother, Delon Johnson.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Montezuma.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Burial will take place in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grinnell Regional Hospice or Life 101.9.
