Donna J. Walters-Brock, age 90, passed away on July 23, 2020, while being cared for at the English Valley Care Center in North English. She was born March 29, 1930, in Barnes City, Iowa, the daughter of Wesley and Hazel (Phipps) Molyneux.

Donna attended Gibson High School and graduated with the Class of 1948.

On September 18, 1948 she was united in marriage to Adam Walters in Sigourney, Iowa. To this union 3 children were born, Jacque, Debra, and Cheryl. They later divorced after 25 years of marriage. She later married Robert. E. Brock on May 21, 1983 in Oskaloosa. Robert passed away on December 20, 2003.

Donna worked at the Sigourney Hospital as a nurse’s aid. She later worked for a dental office in Oskaloosa. Donna went on to work as a respiratory therapist at the Oskaloosa Hospital before eventually going into retail work. She remained as a volunteer at the hospital.

Donna was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa. She was a member of P.E.O., The 13 Club and Cheerietts Singing Group. Donna was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, bowling, shopping and was a great cook! She loved her daughters and always had so much fun on their “girl trips”. She will be remembered for her smile, loving heart, and zest for life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 daughters: Jacque (& Leo) Striegel of Harper, Iowa, and their children, Leanne Striegel and Jody (& Elizabeth) Striegel; Debra (& Jim) Newcomb of North Liberty, Iowa, and their children, Todd (& Stephanie) Newcomb and Angela (& Dan) Peek; Cheryl (& Ross) Cameron of Des Moines, Iowa and their children, Eric (& Lisle) Cameron and Megan (& Richie) Hurd; 9 great grandchildren: Nathan and Ayla Striegel, Bryce, Natalie, and Alivia Newcomb, Logan, Brooke, and Addison Yoder, Maddyx Peek, Brenton Giberson, Lydia Cameron and Natalie Hurd, with baby boy Hurd on the way; Donna’s step-children are: Dennis Brock of Ankeny, Cheryl Loveless of Dubuque and Toni Iglesias. She is also survived by her siblings: Bernard Molyneux of Gibson, Lyle Molyneux of What Cheer, Niesha Kitzman of Marion, and Shirley Johnson of Florida.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brock; her ex-husband, Adam Walters; her parents, Wesley and Hazel Molyneux; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held Monday July 27, 2020 starting at 12:00 p.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with the family present to greet friends and relatives.
Funeral services will start at 1:00 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Chad Lierman of the Central United Methodist church officiating.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
The funeral service will be live streamed at the funeral home’s YouTube Channel for those wishing to support the family from a distance. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Central United Methodist Church.
