Disk Golf Growing In Mahaska County

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The grounds surrounding the new Environmental Learning Center at Caldwell Park will be offering disk golf starting with an opening tournament this weekend.

T.J. Brom and the others from the Oskaloosa Disc Golf group have been busy putting the finishing touches on a new 18 hole course at Caldwell Park.

Brom told Oskaloosa News that the course came after a meeting between himself and Mahaska County Conservation Director Dave Sedivec. After that, it was a matter of time, and the right pieces, particularly funding, falling into place to make that conversation a reality.

Brom describes Oskaloosa Disc Golf Club as passionate about the sport. “We want all families, kids, everybody to get involved in it.”

The new course marks the third course in the Oskaloosa area. The original 18 hole course at Edmundson Park and the 18 hole course now at Caldwell Park. There is also a 9 hole course near University Park. Each offers something different for players.

If you want to learn more about Oskaloosa Disc Golf Club, Brom said to find them on their Facebook Page Here to learn more.
