Day Of Caring Scheduled For September 9th

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The United Way of Mahaska County will be hosting their annual ‘Day of Caring’ on September 9th, 2021.

The event is an organized way for volunteers to tackle needed projects around the county in a single day. Those projects have varied from painting buildings to washing windows.

United Way of Mahaska County Director Michella Friesen spoke with Oskaloosa News about the importance of ‘Day of Caring’ and the upcoming fundraising season for the non-profit.

United Way locally helps coordinate volunteers for various community projects through https://www.volunteermahaska.org/ or the many different non-profits they help fund during the year.

United Way locally also helps individuals with taxes, take-along food program, and summer lunch program for children.

They also host and coordinate the back-to-school fair and winter coat drive.
