Darlene Ruth Boender Roozeboom, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Downers Grove, Illinois, on June 12, 2020. Darlene was born December 18, 1946, to parents, John and Cornelia Van Schouwen Boender.
Darlene was united in marriage, June 28, 1966, to Kenneth Roozeboom.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ken of 55 years; their children: Paula (& Rick) Scholfield, David (& Deanna) Roozeboom, and Wayne (& Diana) Roozeboom; five grandchildren: Samuel, Sara, Shane, Alison, and Renee; three sisters: Rosemary Van Veldhuizen (and friend, Phil Sereg), Sharon (& John) Vander Pol, and her twin, Patricia (& Donald) De Bruin; a brother-in-law, Henry Stursma; and sister-in-law, Joleen Iburg.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Boender, and his wife, Betty; two sisters: Betty Stursma and Gertrude Heslinga; and three brothers-in-law: Ron Van Veldhuizen, Clyde Heslinga and Kenneth Iburg.
A private service was held on June 15 at Hallowell and James Funeral Home in Downers Grove, Illinois.
