Daniels wins second USTFCCCA regional award

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA — Will Daniels (junior, Geneseo, Ill.) was named the USTFCCCA Division III Central Region men’s field event athlete of the year for the second year in a row on Wednesday.

At the American Rivers Conference Indoor Championships, Daniels scored 33 points across five events. He earned all-conference status in four of these five events by placing in the top three. The junior notched runner-up finishes in the 60-meter dash, high jump and pole vault. He also was third in the long jump and sixth in the 60-meter hurdles.

Finishing in the top-five regionally in four events (heptathlon, high jump, 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles), Daniels was previously named an all-region performer.

Daniels set the all-time NCAA Division III record for the heptathlon with 5,441 points at the Wartburg Indoor Select on February 1-2,

At the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend, Daniels is the top seed in the heptathlon and will also compete in the high jump.
