Dan Rhodes, 63, of Fremont, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at his home in Fremont. He was born June 6, 1950, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Forrest and Ruby Hart Rhodes.

Dan attended high school in Fremont, Iowa. After graduating from high school, Dan attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa and received his 2 year Associates degree.

Dan worked at Vermeer in Pella for a time and later went to work as a farmhand.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching college football and NASCAR.

His family includes his two brothers, Jon (& Peggy) Rhodes of New London, IA, and Tom Rhodes of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Anita (& Gary) Lamonte of Bloomington, IL, and Anne (& David) Wicker of West Des Moines, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

As was Dan’s wish his body has been cremated and there are no services scheduled at this time.
