Dalton Tucker named GC volleyball assistant coach

Dalton Tucker has joined the Grinnell College volleyball staff as an assistant coach after serving in that role at the University of Illinois-Springfield.

In Tucker’s season at UIS, the Prairie Stars qualified for the conference tournament for the first time ever and improved their record from 11-20 in 2016 to 22-11. Additionally, the program achieved its best record ever and made its first appearance in the regional rankings.

Tucker coached two all-conference performers and one all-region player.

A graduate of Robert Morris University, Tucker majored in business administration while playing four years of college volleyball. He was twice named team captain and honored as the league’s Defender of the Week 17 times. Additionally, he was tabbed NAIA National Libero of the Week and voted Academic All-American twice. Tucker earned All-America honorable mention status and was a three-time first-team all-conference performer as well as two-time conference Libero of the Year.
