Curves Circuit With Zumba

Oskaloosa, Iowa  (Grassroots Newswire) January 5, 2011 — Imagine what it would be like combining the world’s most advanced fitness program for women with the fun of Zumba dance classes.  This is exactly what’s happening at Curves.

What is the Curves Circuit with Zumba? Take the 30-minute total body workout provided by the Curves circuit and mix in the high-energy, Latin-inspired dance-fitness moves of the Zumba program and you’ve got the Curves Circuit with Zumba. A unique workout that’s available only at Curves.
It’s just like the traditional Curves workout, but with a fun new twist. Participants alternate between strength training machines and Zumba moves for a high-energy burst of focused movement. The intervals are set at one minute rather than 30 seconds to allow time to enjoy the Zumba moves. The one minute intervals also provide benefits for muscular endurance because participants push and pull at a lower intensity with more repetitions.
Only licensed Zumba instructors who are members of the Zumba Instructor Network and have completed the additional training for “Zumba in the Circuit” will be eligible to teach the classes.

“Current research shows resistance training with lower resistance and higher repetitions promotes muscular strength and endurance,” explains Richard B. Kreider, PhD; Department of Health and Kinesiology, Texas A&M University; Director, Exercise and Sport Nutrition Lab.
“Many women find it difficult to build time into their day for exercise. We know that, but we also know that women are the nucleus of the family and if you aren’t healthy, the whole family suffers. Curves is a great way to get the results you want and the quality of life you deserve,” said Teri Cirbo, Owner of Curves in Oskaloosa.
The new Curves Circuit with Zumba classes will officially launch in January 2011. Classes will be available to millions of Curves members worldwide. Curves of Oskaloosa is pleased to offer its members this revolutionary new concept in fitness. Cirbo says, “We expect our current members to be re-energized with something so new and different and also serve as a way we can reach out to thousands of other women in our local communities that have given up on exercise because it’s boring. It’s sure to be a lot of fun so hurry on in to your local Curves to join!”
