Critter Café “Wooly Mammoths”
Friday, March 20, 2020
12:00 – 1:00 pm
Environmental Learning Center
Kids, bring your lunch to the Environmental Learning Center on Friday, March 20th from 12:00-1:00 pm for the “Critter Café”. This is a special opportunity to have lunch with the education animals (turtles) at the Environmental Learning Center. There will be a short lesson on woolly mammoths that used to live in the Mahaska County area during the last glacier period. The children’s book “Mahaska Mammoth: Woolly Dreams” will be read aloud by Linda Fox. This book was written by local authors after the discovery of woolly mammoth bones on a rural Mahaska County farm.
This event is perfect for kids of all ages. There is no fee to participate. Just come with a lunch and have fun!
We will meet in the lower level of the Environmental Learning Center. Please enter the lower level door on the south side of the building. The Environmental Learning Center is located at 2342 Hwy. 92 East, Oskaloosa. If you have questions, call the Mahaska County Conservation Board at (641)673-9327 Ext. 2. We hope to see you there!
