Community members and William Penn students got to know a little bit more about each other at a vendor fair at the Penn Activity Center.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Every year, William Penn University hosts a vendor fair, where community businesses, nonprofits, and other services get a chance to introduce themselves to the students.

Michelle Purdum was happy to be a part of the community fair day, believing it’s important for herself to interact with the William Penn community. “They are very much a part of Oskaloosa.”

Purdum’s table was popular as she had some great coasters, keychains, and bookmarks available, as did most of the other vendors at the fair.

Mike Gipple, manager of Penn Central Mall, was at the fair and said, “We wanted to show all the incoming and existing students what the mall has to offer the students.”

“I think it’s a great way for those younger students to understand the community,” added Gipple. “How else would students find out about it.”

The fair has been going on for over 6 years now inside the Penn Activity Center. Students also get a chance to have a free meal.
