Coertze Honored Again

Oskaloosa–Demi Coertze (Sr., Johannesburg, South Africa, Digital Communication) won another tournament title over the weekend, netting her yet another Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honor Monday.

Coertze, now a nine-time career winner (back-to-back this year), helped the Statesmen to the Buena Vista Invitational title Saturday and Sunday. The senior shot a 159 (79-80) to share the medalist crown with teammate Jing Yang.

For the year, Coertze has five tournament wins and is averaging 78.9 strokes per round (22 rounds). The senior has posted 14 rounds in the 70s, highlighted by a season-low 72 last fall.

WPU has now won six awards this year.
