Cedar Creek bridge on Iowa 92 between Delta and Sigourney to close Aug. 27

SIGOURNEY, Iowa – Aug. 24, 2012 – A bridge deck overlay project will require closing the Cedar Creek bridge on Iowa 92 between Delta and Sigourney beginning Monday, Aug. 27, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Sigourney maintenance garage.
During this closure, motorists traveling westbound on Iowa 92 will be rerouted south and west on Iowa 149 and then north on Iowa 21.
Motorists traveling eastbound on Iowa 92 will be rerouted south on Iowa 21 and then east and north on Iowa 149.
This project is expected to be completed by Oct. 8.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limits and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
