Cause Of Smoke At Abandoned Apartment Building Remains Under Investigation

Oskaloosa Firefighters responded to a smoke report at this abandoned apartment building located at 610 North C on Monday evening.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Oskaloosa firefighters responded to a report of smoke coming from an abandoned apartment building, located at 610 North C Street in Oskaloosa, shortly after 10:15 p.m. on Monday evening.

Firefighters broke open the apartment doors in search of what was causing the smoke, but quickly found that the fire had exhausted itself.

The fire is still under investigation. As of Tuesday evening, Oskaloosa Fire Chief Mark Neff had no comment about what may have been the culprit for the smoke.
