Oskaloosa–Jordan Carter (Sr., Sigourney, Iowa, Elementary Education) played the role of wrecking ball last weekend and those efforts led her to be named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week Monday.

Carter won her first career award by helping the Statesmen (2-2) to a pair of wins at the Robert Morris Tournament.

The senior reached double-digit kills in all four matches, beginning with a 13-kill performance against Ave Marie. She was then called upon time and time again versus Dakota Wesleyan, recording a career-high 21 kills over 60 kills (just four errors for a .283 hitting clip). Carter notched 13 digs as well for a double-double.

The next day, Carter produced another double-double with 10 kills and 19 digs against Robert Morris, before concluding the tournament with her most efficient effort. In WPU’s battle versus Lincoln, the senior tallied 17 winners in just 26 tries for a .538 mark.

Currently, Carter has 61 kills (4.07 per set) and a .273 attack percentage. She has also tallied 46 digs (second on the team) in addition to four aces and three block assists.

The award is the first for the Statesmen this year.
