Oskaloosa–Raunice Butler (Jr., Nassau, Bahamas, Physical Education) joined rarified air Tuesday by being named one of the top players in the nation as the NAIA announced its women’s soccer All-America teams.

Butler was named to the Honorable-Mention team, one of 66 individuals on that squad. The top three teams each had 11 players as well.

The junior, who was a first-team all-Heart of America Athletic Conference honoree as well as the league’s Newcomer of the Year, is the sixth All-American in program history and the first since 2004.

She finished her year with a team-high 13 goals and one assist for 27 points (also team best). She recorded six game-winners, which led the Heart and placed her 18th nationally. Butler’s 13 goals also ranked fourth in the conference; she was first with 0.72 goals per game.

Bethany Balcer of national champion Spring Arbor was named the NAIA National Player of the Year.
