Business After Hours at Oskaloosa Art Center

The Diplomats of the Oskaloosa Area Chamber & Development Group would like to invite Chamber members and friends of the arts to the next Business After Hours to be hosted by the Fine Arts and Cultural Events (FACE) of Mahaska County. It will be held Thursday, Sept. 11 from 4 – 6 pm at the NEW Oskaloosa Art Center and Studios, at 1701 3rd Ave. East, Suite 3 in Oskaloosa.
It has been an exciting year so far for the FACE of Mahaska County! In past years they have sponsored the Young Artist Workshop, the Up & Coming Artist Show and the Children’s Holiday Art Show. They have also supported a band contest, sponsored students for various art projects, sponsored the raffle for Art on the Square, enlisted the community in creating art projects and hosted field trips to regional art events.
The mission of FACE is to provide exceptional arts education and make art accessible and exciting to our community. The newly opened Oskaloosa Art Center and Studios is the educational component of that mission.
There are dedicated people involved with great ideas and goals for the community. The Art Center is now offering art classes, social painting events, “date-night” classes, open studio time, etc. There is some great local talent coming in to teach a broad range of arts classes to people of all ages and abilities. The new Oskaloosa Art Center & Studios is also providing an opportunity for local artists and “creatives” to rent out studio spaces in the center. The Art Center currently has 7 working artist studios in the art center that will provide an atmosphere of creativity and artistic community. Oskaloosa residents are strongly encouraged to come in and watch artists at work, ask questions and look around.
