Brothers Starts Career with POW Award

Oskaloosa–Hayley Brothers (Fr., Bonner Springs, Kan., Exercise Science) was rewarded for a perfect beginning to her collegiate career as she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday.
Brothers garnered her first career laurel after posting a pair of shutouts last week. The freshman helped WPU (1-0) to a win over Waldorf and a tie against Robert Morris.
Versus the Warriors last Wednesday, the freshman was untested (she shared the shutout), but the Eagles provided a different story last Saturday. In the 0-0 draw, Brothers managed seven saves.
The award is the first for the Statesmen this year.
