Boys Golf Claims Another Victory

Oskaloosa Indians

The boys had a solid meet today in some great weather. We won the 4-team meet pretty handily and still have a lot of room for improvement. It was also a good practice run for us because sectionals will be held here later in the year.

Oskaloosa Head Coach Bret Foster said, “Austin Hafner broke through and was co-medalist of the meet. We knew it was just a matter of time before his competition scores matched what he’s been doing in practice. He played some really good golf today. Spencer Tucker didn’t have his best stuff, but mentally he stayed in it, kept his head in the game and really gutted out what ended up being a pretty good round. Hogan and Noah played really well for the most part but just didn’t quite finish like they wanted and that’s something that both will improve on.”

Austin Hafner lead the way for the Indians shooting a 37, just one over par. Spencer Tucker had a 39.

Notre Dame / West Burlington’s Matt Briggs also shot a 37, the only other player to score below a 40.

Oskaloosa had a team score of 161, with Notre Dame / West Burlington being the closest competition to the Indians who had a 181.
