Boschma, Isiminger earn all-conference tennis plaudits

PELLA — The two-highest seeded Central College men’s tennis players both received All-American Rivers Conference accolades the league office announced Thursday afternoon.

Sophomores William Isiminger (North Aurora, Ill., West Aurora HS) and David Boschma (Olathe, Kan., Northwest HS) were both selected for the singles play while Boschma also was recognized for doubles.

Isiminger was 5-2 at No. 1 singles in league matches. He was 10-12 overall in singles, winning eight of his last 10 matches down the stretch.

In the No. 2 singles slot, Boschma was 4-3 in conference matches and 8-12 overall in singles. Boschma and partner Danny Anderson (junior, Boone) were 4-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Anderson was cited as all-conference honorable mention for his doubles performance.

Central finished the season 12-9 overall and placed third in the conference at a 6-2 mark.
