Bonnie Jean Grant Bryant, 78, of Fremont, Iowa, died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at the Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born October 29, 1936, in Iowa to Paul and Ethel Nevins Grant.
Bonnie graduated from Sully High School in 1955. She attended Luther College in Des Moines where she received her registered nursing degree.
Following graduation, Bonnie worked as a registered nurse at several hospitals including Marshalltown, IA, and North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA. On May 23, 1986, Bonnie was united in marriage to James D. Bryant in Rockwall, Texas. Together they spent several years living in Weslaco, Texas, during the winter months and Fremont, IA, during spring and summer.
Bonnie attended Fremont United Methodist Church. She loved bowling, playing cards, pool, dominos and camping.
Bonnie is survived by husband Jim Bryant of Fremont; son, Rodney Wastier of San Diego, California; daughter, Susan (& Pat) Adee of Lakeville, Minnesota; step-children, Mark (& Sondra) Bryant, of Louisville, KY, Steven Bryant and Dianne Bryant, both of Mason City; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Ethel Nevins Grant; daughter, Lori Alman; and brother, Duane Grant.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. at the Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont, Iowa.
Visitation will be held following the service Saturday at the Fremont United Methodist Church in Fremont, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the Bonnie Bryant Memorial Fund or to Fremont United Methodist Church.
