Blanche Moore, 102, of Oskaloosa passed away Monday evening, October 1, 2018, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Blanche Rose Moore, daughter of Alexander and Alberta (Wilson) McCutchen, was born March 28, 1916, in Mahaska County, Iowa.

Blanche was a graduate of Oskaloosa High School.

Blanche married Richard DeRues on December 20, 1935. They made their home on a farm in Mahaska County and were blessed with two children. Dick passed away November 10, 1966. Blanche married Raymond Moore, a farmer from the What Cheer area, October 23, 1969. They made their home on his farm. After Ray’s death August 7, 1991, Blanche first went to live in University Park, and in 2003, she went to live in Norwich Apartments.

Blanche was over a 50-year member of Central United Methodist Church, the Oskaloosa Women’s Club, Nelson Pioneer Farm, and the Mahaska County Historical Society; she was a former member of King’s Daughters.

Blanche enjoyed reading, working in her garden, and canning. Faith, family, and friends were her passions, and she invested her time and energy into each.

Blanche’s family includes her children: Sherrill Hupfeld of Dyersville, IA and Terry (& Sharon) DeRues of Colorado Springs, CO; stepchildren: Ed (& Geri) Moore of Marshalltown, Janice (& Virgil) Henley of Cedar Rapids, IA and Judy Moore of Des Moines; grandchildren: Russell (& Denise) Hupfeld of Vinton, IA, Diane (& Troy) Boedeker of Paola, KS, Mark (& Stacey) Hupfeld of Dysart, IA, Greg (& Stacy) DeReus of Oskaloosa, Debbie Cameron of North Carolina, Tammy Baker of Oskaloosa, Dana DeReus of California, and Chris DeReus of Colorado Springs, CO; step-grandchildren: Lisa (& Steve) Blevins of Marshalltown, Chris Moore of Marshalltown, Mashall Nemer of Marion, and Dean Henley of Cedar Rapids, IA; 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and both of her husbands, Blanche was preceded death by a step-son, Franklin Moore, a step-grandson, David Henley, daughter-in-law, Judy K. Baker and, a granddaughter-in-law, Louise DeReus.

Funeral Services for Blanche will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2018, at Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Wittern of Central United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Friday morning at the funeral chapel.
Memorials can be made to the Central United Methodist Church or to MHP Hospice Serenity House.
