Beason Trial Set To Begin

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Trial is set to begin December 13th at 9 am for Cody Beason on four separate charges.

Beason is charged with Harassment in the First Degree, Indecent Contact with a Child, Theft in the Fourth Degree, and Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse.

The charges stem from an alleged August incident. According to court documents, “The minor stated that all of a sudden Cody Beason got angry, started throwing things around inside the car- including throwing his pop everywhere – then breaking things inside the car. The minor stated Cody Beason then got into the minor’s face screaming profanities and threatened to kill the minor. The minor stated they are terrified of Cody Beason and what he may do. The minor additionally stated that Cody Beason tried to take control of the vehicle they were in and almost caused an accident.”

According to a further affidavit in court documents, “The minor advised Cody Beason did touch her breast and buttocks in sexual ways which made the minor extremely uncomfortable. The minor told me [Police Officer] they were scared to immediately report the incident because Cody Beason has been using (illicit) drugs and being mean to her sister.”

A criminal charge is merely a criminal charge and not an indication of guilt. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
