Baseball and Softball at the Lacey Recreation Complex
This weekend was great for baseball and softball at the Lacey Recreation Complex. A little dreary on Saturday, but beautiful sunny weather on Sunday, nine teams competed as William Penn hosted The MCC Challenge, 2-day softball spring conference games, at the five-plex. Just across from the 5-plex, Osky Babe Ruth hosted the first home games of the season against Twin Cedars on Saturday and Davis County on Sunday. William Penn girls won all four of their games for the weekend and Babe Ruth played double headers both days, Osky winning one and losing one game each day.For the two events, over 350 spectators came out each day in support of their teams despite the contrast in weather from Saturday to Sunday. On Sunday a concession worker was heard to say “Today I am getting the most requests for ice cream and popsicles and yesterday it was hot chocolate and coffee!”
