After his service, Arlon began working as a diesel mechanic. He primarily worked on semi-trucks and large construction equipment. He lived in multiple states that included California, Oregon and Iowa, but he always made time to help take care of his family. Arlon wouldn’t hesitate to bend over backwards to help a friend in need.

Arlon’s family includes his mother, Margaret G. Byrom of Rose Hill, IA; his brothers: Curtis Byrom of Quarts Hill, CA and Scott Reddy of Oskaloosa, IA; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Arlon was preceded in death by his father, Cecil.
