Arlo Tish, 78 of rural Deep River passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2020 at the Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa. Eugene Tish, the son of Floyd and Mary Elnora (Caudle) Tish, was born on November 7, 1941 near Deep River, Iowa.

Arlo was a 1960 graduate of Tri-County North High.

On January 1, 1966, Arlo was united in marriage to Patricia Horras at the Community Church.

Arlo and Pat spent their lifetime farming with his father and brothers and later on their own.

Arlo had a love for tractors, especially his 560. His brother, Keith, also had a 560, and the tractors were one serial number apart. Arlo was very proud of it and kept it restored and loved, taking it on the annual tractor rides. He made numerous friends and had already signed up for this year’s ride. Arlo also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling with Pat’s family on their ride to Colorado. He was also a member of the Community Church. Family was very important to Arlo and continuation of the family farm was his lifetime hope.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pat, of Deep River; his children: Gene (& Laura) Tish of Montezuma, Angie (& Doug) Meyer of Des Moines, Justin (& Alley) Tish of What Cheer; his grandchildren: Caleb Meyer, Dustin Meyer, Courtney Meyer, Abigail Tish, Ashtyn Tish, Amelia Tish, Ashley Tish and Harper Tish; his brother and sister, Keith (& Janice) Tish of Deep River, Helen (& Roger) Edmundson of Keswick; and his brother-in-law, Junior Gay of Oskaloosa.

Arlo is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lois Gay and Marvin (& Verla) Tish.

A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Community Church near Millersburg and will be livestreamed for the public.
An open visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2020 beginning after 9:00 am and lasting until 7:00 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with no family present.
*Please be aware, due to the Coronavirus, the staff at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home will be in compliance with the state regulations until further notice and only allow ten people at a time in the funeral home counting the staff. Please use common courtesy and plan accordingly for the visitation hours.
A private burial will be held in the Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Iowa Bible Camp.

Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Due to the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Arlo’s services will be held privately on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 10:30 am. The staff at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home will be in compliance with the state regulations given by Governor Reynolds on March 17, 2020 and limiting of public gatherings to 10 people including funerals and visitations in regards to the prevention of the spreading of the virus.
