Annual Borlaug Fall Seminar Set On IHCC Campus

OTTUMWA — The Indian Hills Community College Science Club and the college’s Arts and Sciences Department will present the annual Borlaug Fall Seminar on Monday, Oct. 16, at 7:00 p.m.

The seminar will be presented by Dr. Mark Lyte, Professor in the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine at Iowa State University. His presentation is entitled “The Role of Microbial Endocrinology in Human Medicine and Veterinary Health: Why the Intersection of Microbiology and Neurobiology Matters to Infectious Disease and the Microbiota-Gut-Brain Axis.”

Dr. Lyte has degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University and the Feinberg Graduate School of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel.

The seminar will be held in Room 5 in the Rural Health Education Center on the IHCC Ottumwa campus. It is free and open to the public.
