OSKALOOSA, IA — A simple romantic comedy about a boy, a girl, their meddling fathers, and the wall that divides them, The Fantasticks is coming to Oskaloosa!

This heartwarming musical will be at the George Daily Auditorium for one night only, so don’t miss this professional production of a classic tale that will ignite your imagination, delight your senses, and have you singing for days!

The Fantasticks is the world’s longest-running production of any kind, and with good reason: at its heart is a timeless fable of love, purity, and simplicity that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time. It is a moving tale of young lovers who become disillusioned, only to discover a more mature, meaningful love. Punctuated by a series of catchy, memorable songs, audiences will find themselves humming along to such classics as “Try to Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain.”

This tour of The Fantasticks, produced by the veteran theatrical touring company the Nebraska Theatre Caravan will stop in Oskaloosa on Tuesday, February 4th as part of a 65-city national tour. The production utilizes an alternate version of a controversial song, making it an experience that is appropriate for the whole family. It features book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students. Get a group together and take advantage of the group discount! Tickets are available from the George Daily Auditorium box office in person, by calling 641-672-0799, or online at www.georgedaily.org. This production is sponsored by Musco Lighting. The Fantasticks is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
