Conlin-Brandenburg is MWC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week

GRINNELL, Iowa – For the fifth time this season, Grinnell College has had a player named the Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Performer of the Week.

This week’s honoree is Michael Conlin-Brandenburg ’21, who hails from St. Paul, Minn. (Mounds View). Conlin-Brandenburg was a perfect 6-of-6 as Grinnell went 3-0 over the weekend, including 2-0 in MWC action.

In league matches with St. Norbert College and Lawrence University, he won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles against the Green Knights and 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 against Lawrence. He added a 6-2, 6-0 win over Luther College at No. 5 as the No. 10 regionally-ranked Pioneers beat the No. 15 Norse 6-3.

Playing at No. 2 doubles in all three matches, Conlin-Brandenburg and Sam Stickels ’19 won 8-0 against Lawrence, 8-1 versus St. Norbert and 8-2 in the Luther match.

Conlin-Brandenburg is 16-2 in singles this year and 17-4 in doubles.
