Indians End Season In First Round

Washington, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Indians Girls Basketball Team had their season come to an end on Wednesday night, as they fell to Washington 28-44.

The Indians finished the season at 2-19, with wins over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Norwalk.

It also marked the end of their high school basketball careers for seniors: Lindsey Holmberg, Emma Kelderman, Marleigh Denburger, and Ashley Drost.

Washington edged Oskaloosa in the first quarter, leading 9-8. In the second quarter, Washing added 14 more points, while Oskaloosa’s offense added 8 points, Washington leads at half time 23-16.

Oskaloosa’s offense struggled in the 3rd quarter, as Washinton outscored the Indians 14-4. Oskaloosa won the 4th quarter, edging out Washington 8-7, leading to a final score of 44-28.

No stats were available as of press time for the Oskaloosa Indians matchup with Washington.

For Washington, Senior Isabel Bailey scored 12 points, while Junior Olivia Pacha added 10 more.

Defensively for Washington, Pacha had 11 rebounds, while Senior Kira Ropp had 9.
