Statesmen Announce Inaugural Leadership Council

Oskaloosa–The William Penn football team has announced its inaugural Leadership Council for the 2019 football season.

A total of 15 individuals have been selected for the Council, which was selected by the Statesmen coaching staff. The group will include Hunter Behm (Jr., West Haven, Utah, Mechanical Engineering), Jeremiah Benson (Jr., Kansas City, Mo., Physical Education), Alex Crehan (Jr., Troy, Ill., Business Management), Jaidin Fletcher (Jr., Upland, Calif., Information Technology), Clive Manuao (Jr., Norwalk, Calif., General Accounting), Luke Masters (So., Branson, Mo., Undecided), Charles Nelson (Jr., Jefferson City, Mo., Biology and Education), Jace Neugebauer (So., McArthur, Calif., Business Management), Tre Nimmers (So., Rock Island, Ill.), Rodney Requena (Fr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Exercise Science), Kevin Rusler (So., Carson City, Nev., Sociology), Ben Sherman (Fr., Troy, Pa., Elementary Education), Haydn Stender (Jr., Brigham City, Utah, Psychology), Joshua Vasquez (Jr., Draper, Utah, Undecided), and Tyler Wood (Jr., Newton, Iowa, Education).

The Council, which will focus on developing leadership skills and creating ownership and accountability in a leadership role, will meet twice per month during the offseason and once per week during the season with Assistant Coaches Trevor Strong and Brett Stewart.

Additionally, the Council will not only help to implement and enforce team standards and expectations, but will also serve as a voice for WPU football players on campus. Individuals will utilize books, videos, and team-building activities to create stronger team culture.
