Blom Collects Weekly Accolade

Oskaloosa–Adyson Blom (Fr., Newton, Iowa, Human Services and Sociology) was perfect in a ‘relief appearance’ and for her efforts, she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday.

Blom picked up her first award in helping William Penn to an overtime victory over Avila.

The freshman goalkeeper entered the game at halftime with the Statesmen down 2-0. The navy and gold roared back offensively and Blom made the labors stick as she shut down the Eagles over
49 minutes, including almost five minutes of overtime.

For the year, Blom is 1-0 with six saves. She has yet to allow a goal in 61 minutes of action.

The award is WPU’s second of the year.
