Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s golf team enters the 2018-2019 season as one of the best teams in the nation as the NAIA’s preseason top-25 poll was released Friday.

WPU is #21 with 161 points and is first among Heart of America Athletic Conference programs. Culver-Stockton joins the navy and gold in the rating in 40th with five points.

Reigning national champion Oklahoma City is #1 in the NAIA with 529 points and all 19 first-place votes. Dalton State (Ga.) is second, while Texas Wesleyan, Coastal Georgia, and Keiser (Fla.) round out the top five.

William Penn, which won four tournaments last season and qualified for nationals, opens the fall campaign on September 10-11 as it travels to Memphis, Tenn. to compete in the NAIA Memphis Shootout at Southwind Golf Course.
