Pauline Fisher

Oskaloosa. Pauline Fisher, 85, of Oskaloosa died Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Oskaloosa Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born on July 27, 1925, at Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of George and Florence Worthy Visser. She graduated from the Bussey High School with the class of 1943. On August 13, 1944, she was united in marriage to Glen Fisher in Monroe County, Iowa. She worked for many years at Ideal Manufacturing and retired from there. She was a member of the American Legion and the Mahaska Traveling Chiefs Camping Club. Pauline enjoyed many years of camping and visiting friends. After moving to Osky Care Center, she continued keeping in contact with friends and family via e-mail.

Her family includes her husband of over 66 years, Glen Fisher of Oskaloosa; two sons: Gary Fisher of Mena, Arkansas and Daryl (& Debbie) Fisher of Cape Coral, Florida; 2 grandchildren: Shawn (& Paul) McCabe of Atlanta, GA and Chad (& Olivia) Fisher of Fort Collins, CO; 2 great granddaughters: Kate and Ella McCabe; and a sister: Arlene Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services for Pauline Fisher will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. As were her wishes her body has been cremated and burial will be at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be in the Bates Funeral Chapel and will begin Tuesday after 1 p.m. with the family present from 6 – 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Cancer Connection.
