Obituary:
Billy Eugene Finck was born November 21, 1936 in Fontanelle, Iowa the son of William and Ellen (Purdy) Finck.
He graduated from Fontanelle High School and then enlisted in the United States Army. He served four years and was honorably discharged. As a young man, Bill worked in his father’s auto service business and as a tailor for a dry cleaning business. He then moved to Des Moines and worked for Cummins. On October 22, 1961 he was united in marriage to Joyce Beaver in Attica, Iowa. The couple lived in Des Moines and later in Ankeny. Bill worked for Inland Truck Parts and moved the family to Omaha in 1970 when he was transferred. In 2003 Bill and Joyce moved to Knoxville where Joyce passed away on July 9, 2010.
Bill and Joyce were great fans of the Knoxville Raceway and faithfully attended the sprint car races every weekend, even when they lived in Omaha. Bill also enjoyed watching Husker football and mechanical and carpentry work. He was meticulous about everything he did and was a great observer of life and his surroundings.
Bill passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his home at the age of 74 years and 1 month.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce and three siblings: Betty, Calvin and Evelyn.
Those left to honor Bill’s memory include his children, Nancy (Tim) Anderson of Knoxville and Mike (Jenny) Finck of Omaha; four grandchildren: Garrett (Destiny), Owen, Carter and Kinley Joyce; step-granddaughter, Tallon; one great grandchild, Haylee; his sisters-in-law, Joan Noftsger (Bob) of Grimes and Sandi Beaver of Knoxville and many other family members and friends.

Private family services were held at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Bill has been cremated and burial, with military honors, will be in the Graceland Cemetery at a later date.
