City of Richland Lifts Boil Advisory

RICHLAND – The City of Richland in Keokuk County has lifted the boil advisory for its drinking water system.

Testing of the repaired system after it had been flushed indicates no bacteria in the water, meaning residents can once again use tap water for drinking and cooking.

A boil advisory was issued Wednesday, December 15, when a major water main break caused the water system to lose pressure. Once pressure has been lost in a water system, there is potential for bacterial contamination.
