Worthington, Minn.–While the varsity crew was in Missouri, the rest of the William Penn wrestling team competed at the Worthington Open hosted by Minnesota West CC Saturday.

Sheldon Rodriguez (So., Tampa, Fla., Biology) topped WPU by finishing 3-2 at 285 pounds; the sophomore won once by fall and once more by major decision.

George Schmeider (So., Warwick, R.I., Secondary Education) was also a three-time winner, doing so at 165 pounds. His day was highlighted by a fall.

141-pounder Joe Eads (Fr., Morrison, Ill., Biology) won twice Saturday (one pin), while Sam Brophy (So., Pahrump, Nev., American History and Government) also tallied a pair of victories at 149 pounds (one technical fall).

Benjamin Freese (So., Winterset, Iowa, General Accounting) pinned one opponent in the 149-pound bracket, while 133-pounder Nadhelo Charles-Pierre (Fr., Miramar, Fla., Sports Management), 141-pounder Gilberto Rodriguez (So., Manassas, Va.), and 149-pounder Kionte Crocker (Sr., Brandon, Fla., Industrial Technology) also claimed a win.

Next Up: William Penn returns to Oskaloosa Friday to host Baker in a Heart of America Athletic Conference dual at 7 p.m.
