Karen E. Reynolds

Karen E. Reynolds
September 16, 1944 – January 18, 2018
Harrison, Arkansas | Age 73

Karen Reynolds, 73, of Harrison, Arkansas and formerly of Osceola and Norwalk, Iowa was called home to her Lord Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Hospice of the Hills in Harrison, Arkansas.

Karen Ethel Hanna was born on September 16, 1944, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Robert Wayne Hanna and A. Maxine Cameron Hanna.

Karen was raised on a Century Farm that her great-grandfather Alexander Hanna homesteaded in the 1850’s.

Karen received her elementary education in a rural one-room schoolhouse and received her secondary education in the Oskaloosa Senior High School, where she met her future husband her freshman year.

Karen married David Reynolds on November 5, 1960, and celebrated their 57th anniversary last November. Three boys: Jeff, Greg and Brent were born to this union.

Karen spent many years early in the marriage as a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. After returning to work, Karen finished her career working as an administrative assistant for Iowa Health Systems and retired after 28 years working with the hospital.

David and Karen then retired Arkansas in 2006 where she continued to stay active with St. Paul United Methodist Church, volunteering at the local hospital and was a member of the Newcomer’s Club in Harrison, Arkansas.

Karen loved life, was very devoted to her children and grandchildren, loved music, loved her dogs, and writing poetry was just one of her unique gifts.

We will miss her smiles, her laugh, love and encouragement that she was so eager to share with all who knew her. We are left with many loving memories of a wonderful wife, mother, and friend.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, David; their children: Jeff (& Sandy) Reynolds of Earlham, Iowa, Greg (& Tammy) Reynolds of Argyle, Iowa, and Brent (& Patty) Reynolds of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, Jerry Hanna; a sister, Cindy Lang; grandchildren: Jamie, Devin, Alexis, Serena, Kiersten, and Allyson; and three great-grandchildren.
