Smith Welcomed To New Job As Chamber Director

Ann Smith was recently named the new chamber director of OACDG.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The offices at the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group filled with people who wanted to meet and greet the chamber’s newest director Ann Smith on Tuesday afternoon.

Smith, who came to the chamber from Mahaska Health Partnership, will be busy catching up with chamber business and meeting with those who aren’t, in hopes of helping to build not only membership but building a strong community.

Smith said that during her first weeks at the chamber, she’s met some great people already.

During the meet and greet on Tuesday, many shared their excitement for Smith. “That honestly makes me feel good that people have their trust in me to do better for the community,” added Smith.

Smith is exploring all of the new committees that she is a part of, and learning more from the discussion groups made up of community volunteers, and developing tourism for Oskaloosa.

“What does it look like for business owners in the future for Oskaloosa, and how can we help them,” is something Smith will be focusing on.
