Mahaska County, Iowa – Mahaska County 911 Dispatch received a call on Thursday morning of a machine shed on fire at 2306 Yarnell Avenue east of Rose Hill.

What Cheer Fire was dispatched to battle the blaze.

Oskaloosa Fire was dispatched to assist What Cheer at 11:04 am, with Cedar Township Fire called in to also help.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found a fully engulfed shed, with several pieces of machinery inside.

The fire was threatening to jump to nearby structures, including a silo filled with grain.

The fire was brought under control without further damage to nearby structures.

A cause of the fire was unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
