Cosmic bowling helped to set the mood for Saturday night’s ‘Bowling for Vets’ fundraiser.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – With a wish to help area vets, Dianna Buffington took the task upon herself to hold a fundraiser at Mahaska Bowl on Saturday evening with the hope of raising $1000 to benefit veterans in Mahaska County.

At Mahaska Bowl, the mood was festive as the cosmic style bowling lights and Elvis helped bowlers enjoy the evening.

Buffington also held a fundraiser in February of 2017, “and I decided to do a bowling for vets because I feel like our vets need all the help they can get.”

That February fundraiser raised $600 for veterans, and Buffington was hopeful to raise $1000 on Saturday night.

Besides bowling, there were raffles and a bake sale at Saturday night’s fundraiser.

For Buffington, the cause of supporting vets is one near to her heart. “I have a lot of vets in my family.”

‘We would like to help some military families,” added Buffington.
