Baldwin City, Kan.–It was a rough night for the Statesmen volleyball team as it fell 3-0 to Baker in Heart of America Athletic Conference action Friday.

WPU (11-21, 2-13 Heart) lost by scores of 14-25, 11-25, 19-25. The team was held to a -.020 hitting clip, while Baker (12-17, 5-12 Heart) owned a .294 mark.

The Statesmen were paced by five kills from Jordan Carter (Jr., Sigourney, Iowa, Elementary Education) and Alicia Jaquez (Fr., Farmington, N.M., Biology). Nashali Cruz (Fr., Bayamon, P.R., Biology) added four more winners.

Taniah Ayap (Fr., Hilo, Hawaii, Exercise Science) finished with 13 assists and Ashley Miller (Jr., Kalona, Iowa, Exercise Science) managed 13 digs.

Next Up: William Penn returns to Oskaloosa next Tuesday to host Graceland in Heart action at 7 p.m.
