City Council Votes No To Mahaska County Resolution

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The city of Oskaloosa voted no to a resolution from Mahaska County Supervisors to end their part of a 28E agreement for a regional airport.

The resolution stated, “The City Council of the city of Oskaloosa, Iowa hereby denies the Mahaska County attempt to amend, terminate, and withdraw from the current 28E Agreement between Mahaska County, the city of Oskaloosa, and the city of Pella for the proposed regional airport project.”

No comments were made and In a 7-0 vote, the council members voted to deny Mahaska County an exit from the 28E agreement.

In other action, the council voted to approve the pay application in the amount of $46,024.67 to TK Concrete for North C Street curb and gutter replacement.

The council agreed to pay $18,271.11 to Christner Contracting for work completed on the facade improvement project.

The council agreed to a resolution authorizing Garden & Associates to move ahead with engineering and construction engineering services for the D Street reconstruction project.

The council also heard from Oskaloosa Fire Chief Mark Neff on 2nd quarter code enforcement for the city.

Also approved was a change order in the amount of $48,532.56 and to pay request no. 14 in the amount of $82,675.86 to DDVI Inc. for work completed on the Oskaloosa Fire Department Expansion and Renovation Project.

An open house for the fire station is planned for August 3rd, beginning at 2 pm and going until 9 pm.
