Krista Joanne Stufflebeem-Alvarez, 31, of Fremont, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Peoria, Illinois. She was born Saturday, January 4, 1986, in Galesberg, IL, the daughter of Jose Angel Alvarez, Jr. and Lisa Lucille Stufflebeem.
Krista graduated from Ottumwa High School with the Class of 2004. Following graduation, Krista attended Indian Hills and later Buena Vista and majored in accounting.
In 2005, Krista was united in marriage to Ryan Vannoy in Ottumwa and they later divorced.
Krista worked for 15 years at Millard’s in Ottumwa as an accountant and lastly at Top Notch Cleaning.
She enjoyed playing softball, scrapbooking and shopping. She attended The Bridge Church in Ottumwa.
Krista is survived by: her grandfather, Carl Stufflebeem of Ottumwa; grandfather, Jon Pedersen of Oquawka, IL; grandparents, Jose & Eva Alvarez of Eaglepass, TX; two daughters: Makayla Stufflebeem of Ankeny and Mackinzie Vannoy of Farson; a son, Kinnick Thudium of Ottumwa; a sister, Kristina Stufflebeem of Montrose, Colorado; two brothers: Toby Stambaugh Jr. of Abbington, Illinois and Josh Alvarez of Knoxville, Illinois; her father, Jose Alvarez Jr. of Mexico; her Stepfather, Toby Stambaugh of Abbington, IL; and 4 nieces and 2 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lisa Stufflebeem; and her grandmother, Ida Jo Pedersen.
Visitation will be held Friday from 1 P.M. until service time at 3 P.M. at the Fremont Funeral Chapel with the family present during that time to greet friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 2017, at 3 P.M. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel with Travis Peel officiating.
Krista’s body will be cremated following the funeral and her cremated remains will be buried at Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa at a later date.
Memorials may be made to her family.
