Trudy A. Craig, 68, of Oskaloosa, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Northern Mahaska Specialty Care in Oskaloosa. She was born Tuesday, June 5, 1948, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of William and Iola Binns Thayer.

Trudy graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the Class of 1966.

Following school, Trudy worked at the Overall Factory, in area nursing homes as a nurse’s aide and also at the Oskaloosa Herald.

On December 14, 1968, Trudy was united in marriage to Dennis Davis, they later divorced. On July 29, 1988, she was united in marriage to Donald Craig in Oskaloosa.

Trudy enjoyed cross stitching, ceramics, adult coloring books and puzzle books.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Donald Craig of Oskaloosa; a daughter, Loree Holliday of Oskaloosa; a son, Cory Davis of Salt Lake City, Utah; three step daughters: Loretta Beck of Oskaloosa, Terri (& John) Gilbert of Attica and Cynthia (& Brian) Recor of Oskaloosa; four grandchildren: Whittney (& Patrick) Seiple, Kari Holliday, Keasha Holliday (& fiancé Brett Walkup) and Bailey Davis; 5 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; two brothers: Jon (& Sharon) Thayer of Iowa City and James (& Amy) Thayer of Oskaloosa; two sisters: Cathy (& Alvin) Westercamp of Oskaloosa and Jill (& Lee) Hale of Hamilton, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and twin infant brothers.

As was her wish, Trudy’s body has been cremated.
Graveside services and burial of her cremated remains will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, at 10 A.M. in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Reverend Rodney DeRonde officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.
