Johnson Claims Scholar-Athlete Accolade

Oskaloosa–Colton Johnson (Sr., Westminster, Calif., Physical Education) was honored for his excellence in the classroom as he was named a 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athlete Wednesday.

Johnson, who is a first-time recipient, owned a 3.70 Grade Point Average entering this spring. He is among 383 baseball players from within the NAIA to be awarded the laurel.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must be of at least junior academic standing, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and have attended the nominating institution for at least one full academic year.
