Patricia Ann Bowersock, 80, of Hedrick, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa. Patricia was born Friday, March 12, 1937, in Wright County, Iowa, the daughter of James and Mary (Fulton) McVey.
Following school, Patricia worked as a cook in a restaurant in Winfield, Iowa. This is where she met her husband, Robert Bowersock. On, July 17, 1954, they were united in marriage. Robert died October 30, 1983.
Patricia later worked at Kingsbury Homes and lastly at R & K Country Barn in Hedrick.
Patricia enjoyed painting, sketching, gardening, sewing, crocheting, ceramics and various other arts and crafts. She was a former member of the Hedrick American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her 7 children: Sheila (& Lee) Bell of Garden City, Kansas, Terry Bowersock of Farson, James Bowersock of Martinsburg, John Bowersock of Eldon, Heather (& Tom) Hanigan of Keomah, Daniel Bowersock of Albia and Dawn Bowersock of University Park; 10 grandchildren: Shawn, Matthew, Christopher, Brittany, Levi, Ashley, Amanda, Amy, Jordan and Nathan; and 5 great grandchildren: Kimber, Tristan, Brileigh, Samantha and Emberlynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Robert Michael Bowersock; 3 brothers: Phillip, Jim and Mack; and 2 sisters: Charyl and Jean Ann.
As was her wish, Patricia’s body has been cremated.
No visitation is planned at this time.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in Brooks Cemetery west of Hedrick. Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
